Producer Fair Trade Crafts
Machakos District Co-operative Union (MDCU) was established in 1964 to provide a marketing service for agricultural co-operatives. They started working with fair trade craft groups in 1987 and are now involved with 50 village co-operatives and approximately 7,000 artisans. MDCU aims to find markets for their fair trade products, to provide centralised services for its member groups and to take care of the enviroment.
